Josie Gibson chokes back tears while presenting This Morning on Monday when conversation in the ITV studio turned to her son’s recent health scare.
The presenter, 37, was hosting the ITV daytime programme alongside Craig Doyle, while regular hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield enjoy their summer break.
While discussing the NHS’s current health crisis, an emotional Josie thanked theatre staff after her son, Reggie, three, was rushed to hospital last week after a trampoline accident
Paying tribute to staff she said: ‘They couldn’t even have a lunch break, so much credit to them.’
The Big Brother champion had shared the scary news on Instagram on Thursday as she posted an image of his X-ray and thanked doctors for taking good care of him.
She explained how she had to drive Reggie – who she shares with her ex-boyfriend Terry – to A&E after the incident and would need surgery on his arm.
As she shared the news on her Instagram story, Josie wrote: ‘Thank you to the theatre at the @ruhbath. You’ve put my little prince back together again.
‘Reg has a new terminator arm. A victim of a trampoline ladder.’
In the second post, Josie shared a Photoshopped image of her son as Iron Man – in a nod to his ‘terminator arm’.
It was captioned with: ‘Reggie-James is Iron Man.’ She then added: ‘Thank you to my @thismorning family for making this. LOL.’
Josie shares Reggie with her former partner Terry. The couple separated four months after their son’s birth.
The former Big Brother winner revealed she’d given birth in September 2018 by sharing a photo from the neonatal unit at the same hospital where Reggie was treated for his trampoline injury.
‘My waters broke at my Baby shower last Wednesday and one thing lead to another…. We are delighted to announce we have a beautiful very little baby boy with the loveliest little soul,’ she wrote at the time.
It comes after Josie gave an insight into her working relationship with Phillip Schofield on This Morning, revealing the pair have a secret code to ensure their hosting is seamless.
‘And if he wants to ask the next question, he takes a little breath and I hear him, it’s very clever.
She went on to gush that Phillip is a ‘true professional’ as she gave an insight into what it is like co-presenting the morning chat show.
Josie will be hosting the show in the coming summer weeks alongside a host of guests presenters, including Vernon Kay and Craig Doyle.
The star described working on This Morning as an ‘honour and a privilege’, saying she’s now in her dream job having been employed in an office, a tumble dryer factory and as a waitress in the past.
It came after Josie surprised fans by admitting she finds divisive businessman Elon Musk‘s intelligence very attractive.
Appearing to be fired up by super-rich business magnate and investor Musk, Josie stated that she would like to see his rocket and would be open to an approach from the billionaire.
However, she has insisted that it’s the Tesla and SpaceX founder’s brainpower she’s interested in and not his many billions.
She stated to The Mirror that she has ‘little time for love at the moment’, but would be open to an approach from Musk – or him ‘sliding into my DM’s’.

Elon, who is the world’s richest man, has been married three times and is now single just like Josie after splitting with singer Grimes – a mother to two of his eight children.
And Josie, who won Big Brother in 2010, says Musk ‘fascinates her’ and claimed that she likes how ‘intelligent he is’.
However, she stated to the Mirror that she ‘does not expect Elon to come calling’ and added: ‘He could have the most beautiful women in the world.’
