Caroline Mubaira

Caroline Mubaira has over 20 years working with the community in the areas of HIV and AIDS and psychosocial Care and Support. She holds a Bachelor of Science Psychology degree with Zimbabwe Open University. Her experience includes HIV and AIDS Over 10 years experience in HIV and AIDS development work. She was a Youth Programme Manager in charge of the Adolescent Reproductive Health and the Orphan and Vulnerable children (OVC) since 2005 and worked with internally displaced youth on safe migration.

She is responsible for designing and delivering of HIV programmes, research and advocacy at the Community Working Group on Health network. She spearheads, coordinates and manages initiatives in mainstreaming psychosocial support care and support of HIV and AIDS, mainstreaming Gender and Human Rights into HIV and AIDS programming and a holistic approach to treatment literacy information dissemination for community preparedness. As a communication specialist, Caroline is skilled specialist in development of information, communication and education materials.

She is experienced in behaviour change communication strategies. Her experience in psychosocial care and support is supported by her qualification as a Master Trainer, trained under REPSSI on psychosocial care and support (PSS) of children and youth. She is skilled in organising workshops and Conferences and running training of trainers courses, workshops, conferences and symposia. Caroline was a Nurse tutor for four years responsible for designing and delivering nurse curriculum.

She is a trainer in the following methodologies; Auntie Stella, Stepping Stones, STAR, Journey of life and Community based Counselling. Caroline has project management, leadership and Supervision experience. She heads programmes in 25 districts of Zimbabwe in Adolescent Reproductive Health with special emphasis on strengthening responses to HIV issues in OVC especially the girl, child, Gender and HIV programme from a sexuality Perspective and the Civic Education Programme on Health. She is a village Health Worker Trainer for maternal and child health. She is also tasked with preparation of grant proposals, project reports, monthly and quarterly reports and facilitation of day-to-day activities of the programmes.
